SEVEN BRIDGES HOTEL : AMSTERDAM

SEVEN BRIDGES HOTEL : AMSTERDAM

The Seven Bridges is a beautiful and  unique 300-year old waterfront canal house turned boutique hotel, ideally located at the intersection of the Reguliersgracht and Keizersgracht canals right in the historic centre of Amsterdam.

You’re only minutes away from a plethora of bars, restaurants and shops making it a perfect location for a short stay in the stunning Dutch city.

The first thing you notice when stepping into the front door is the sensational aroma of Stargazer Lilies in the small reception area alongside the immaculate attention to detail that starts at the door and runs throughout the hotel.

The hotel has eight highly personalised rooms of varying sizes all adding to the backdrop of the building’s rich history. All rooms are adorned with outstanding and elegant antique furnishing throughout. It’s like stepping back in time as well as offering a taste of how the wealthy Amsterdammers live.

Give the charming hosts chance and they will happily wax lyrical about the antiques that act as both function and ornament in the rooms. The era they come from, who once owned them, where they used to be housed and how they ended up at the Seven Bridges mean you can easily while away a rainy afternoon taking in some unique history.

We stayed in ‘Garden Room 5’; a spacious boudoir with a splendid Dutch Rankenkast (wardrobe) from 1680, a 19th Century French Boule table (from which in-room breakfast is served) and a gold leaf plated ceiling.  There is a small garden terrace for sipping coffee in the sun or taking in a break from the hustle of the city.

This balance of beautiful interiors, hospitable warmth from the owners and relaxed ambience makes guests instantly feel at home.

We highly recommend the optional, in-room breakfast brought at a time of your choosing.

Our new favourite Amsterdam hotel.
