INFO

WHAT IS EYE CANDY?

Selecting exhibitors, speakers and designers from across the globe Eye Candy showcases illustration, art and design through a programme of events (exhibitions, meet-ups, interventions), a talks program (with industry heavyweights) and creative workshops.

WHEN DOES IT TAKE PLACE?
Events can pop up throughout the year but the usual Eye Candy weekend happens mid October (this is subject to change).

WHERE DOES IT HAPPEN?
In a warehouse space / arts venue in central Birmingham, UK.

DOES IT MATTER IF I AM NOT FROM THE UK?

No, we actively seek artists from across the globe and are happy for you to apply (as long as you don’t put in business class flights 😉 into your budget)

DO I NEED TO ATTEND / BE AT THE EVENT OR CAN I SUBMIT WORK?

We are open to ideas – as long as you can deliver and install the works (or know someone who can) then we are happy to discuss your involvement.

HOW MANY ARTISTS DO YOU COMMISSION?
It depends on our funding but usually from 30-50 artists.

HOW MUCH IS THE AVERAGE COMMISSION?

There is no average commission as such – it depends on a number of factors: The work being produced, amount of people involved, materials required, etc.
We will usually look at commissions from around £250 (for a one-off workshop for example) to £5000 (for a collective artwork commission). However this is by no means a hard-and-fast rule – if we love your idea and the budget can be justified (value for money) we’ll try our hardest to raise the funding.

DEADLINE for EOI: Monday 27th April.

What happens next?

Fused will be in touch to shortlist applicants during May.
All commissions are based on the receipt of a successful funding application and sponsorship.
Shortlist does NOT guarantee a commission at this stage.
