Conrad Corfu: The Ultimate Ionian Escapism
Opening in May 2026, Conrad Corfu marks a quietly confident new chapter for the Ionian Islands. Set along a secluded stretch of Corfu’s southern coast, this 136-key resort positions itself as a place of considered calm rather than headline grabbing excess. Think space, light and a strong sense of place, delivered through Conrad’s globally recognised lens of design led luxury.
The setting does much of the work. A 200-metre beachfront unfurls in front of a masterplan designed to preserve open sightlines from arrival to sea, with the expansive Aqua Piazza lagoon acting as a reflective heart rather than a spectacle pool. Around it, landscaped gardens soften the architecture while indoor and outdoor heated pools, three restaurants, two bars and an open-air cinema create an unhurried rhythm that feels rooted in island life. Old Town Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is around an hour away, while the Belle Époque Achilleion Palace sits close by, anchoring the resort firmly within Corfu’s layered cultural landscape.
Accommodation begins at a generous 35 square metres, with many rooms, suites and villas offering private heated pools, jacuzzis or direct access to the Aqua Piazza. The standout is a flagship four-bedroom villa spanning 280 square metres, designed as a private retreat with expansive outdoor terraces and sea-facing views. Throughout the interiors, a grounded palette of terracotta, stone and layered greens is paired with bespoke travertine detailing and sculptural lighting, balancing warmth with contemporary restraint.
The architecture reworks an existing 1986 building, retaining its original cadence of arches while opening the ground plane towards the shoreline. Arrival unfolds through a limestone-floored hall that doubles as a gallery for contemporary Greek art, leading into a glass-roofed atrium inspired by Corfu’s open squares. A Palladiana-style marble walkway then draws guests towards the water, reinforcing a sense of deliberate, slow movement through the space.
Dining is a central pillar of the experience. A signature fine dining restaurant by Michelin starred chef Alexandros Tsiotinis brings modern technique to Greek references, while the all-day restaurant nods to Corfiot tradition. A beachfront venue and two bars, one on the sand and one indoors, are supported by a focused Greek and Mediterranean wine list. Materials echo across the spaces, from Thebes-yellow marble to fluted tiles and woven textiles that reference mid-century Greek design.
Wellness is equally thoughtful. The spa draws on bathhouse geometry with travertine, handmade zellige and linen drapery, alongside a vitality pool, infrared sauna and snow shower. Treatments by ONAR and Swissline sit alongside yoga, Pilates and TRX sessions offered indoors and out. Families are catered for too, with a kids club designed as a treehouse style micro-village among olive and eucalyptus trees, operated in collaboration with Worldwide Kids.
Managed by Numo Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Corfu extends the group’s design led approach from Crete and Mykonos into the Ionian. A property wide art programme titled Anasynthesis, curated by Saint of Athens, commissions works from leading Greek artists, reinforcing a clear commitment to local creative voices.
As part of Conrad Hotels & Resorts, the resort aligns with the brand’s focus on bold design, purposeful service and impactful experiences. What sets Conrad Corfu apart is its confidence in restraint. This is Ionian escapism shaped by Greek creatives, anchored in landscape and culture, and designed for travellers who value depth over display.
