London’s Fashion Incubator Opens Doors to a World of Talent and Innovation.
The London Fashion Academy has launched the JCA Gallery, which is a new physical platform for showcasing the talent of its learners. Located in the JCA campus on Hanover Square, this vibrant ground-floor gallery is a space for designers to display their garments and accessories to the public. The gallery will be supported by an e-commerce section of the JCA’s website, which will allow the public to buy and rent products from the Academy’s learners for the very first time.
The JCA Gallery is founded on the principle of immersive experience, where each young designer’s works are presented in an exhibition style. It aims to offer both undergraduate and master’s students from the Academy a platform to enter the world of retail. The JCA Gallery is open to the public from Tuesday through Thursday weekly, from 10 am to 5.30 pm, by appointment only. It offers a bespoke experience to meet and collaborate with young design talent. The JCA staff will assist customers through their rental journey in person, or with the same seamless experience with the convenience of the online presence.
The launch of an accompanying e-commerce platform on Thursday, 11th April, marks the Academy’s first foray into the commercial fashion industry. Admirers from around the globe can now purchase or rent products crafted by the Academy’s learners. Ha Smith, the Director of Incubation at JCA, emphasizes the dual focus of the Academy: to refine creative talents and to instil the entrepreneurial skills necessary for success in the competitive world of fashion.Smith states, underlining the holistic approach of the Academy.
