The British Fashion Council (BFC) has unveiled its prestigious selection of the year’s most innovative and inspirational young creative talents in the global fashion industry. Named the 2023 NEW WAVE: Creatives, this dynamic list spotlights 50 trailblazers hailing from diverse disciplines. These creative forces encompass digital artists, casting agents, photographers, art directors, hair and makeup artists, image creators, nail artists, set designers, and stylists.
This outstanding group of 50 individuals will be celebrated as a part of The Fashion Awards (TFA) 2023, presented by Pandora, set to take place on Monday, December 4th at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.
TFA, organized by the BFC, is more than an awards ceremony; it’s a global entertainment platform that showcases fashion’s pivotal role at the intersection of culture and entertainment. TFA sheds light on creative talent, narrates the stories of the year in fashion, and embodies values of purpose, excellence, and creativity. The selection process for this year’s NEW WAVE: Creatives began in July, with input from the 2022 recipients, reflecting a sense of community and support within the fashion industry. An esteemed industry panel played a pivotal role in defining the final group of recipients for 2023, featuring respected voices such as Amber Testino, Bandana Tewari, Bonnie Langedjik, Carla Sozzani, Feng Chen Wang, John Rankin, Karla Welch, Samuel Ross, Toni Blaze Ibekwe, and Yinka Ashogbon.
The illustrious group of past NEW WAVE: Creatives includes an array of change-makers who are challenging the status quo and infusing fresh creative energy into the fashion industry.
